Bosch and Siemens Recalled Dishwashers
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled dishwashers immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell recalled appliances.
476,500 units were recalled by Bosch and Siemens Model Dishwashers manufactured by BSH Home Appliances Corp. due to the fire hazard.
An electrical component in certain model dishwashers can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
BSH Home Appliances has received 51 reports of incidents, including 30 reports of fires resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves certain Bosch® and Siemens® dishwashers manufactured from May 1999 through July 2005. The brand name is printed on the dishwasher’s front control panel. Model and serials numbers are located inside the dishwasher door panel on the upper right side.
